Ninemile Valley

Road Reconnaissance

We will be driving and hiking on Forest Service roads to help establish which roads are in good shape as well as identify places where erosion may be a problem, or where fish migration may be impeded.  Our work is essential in helping the Forest Service determine where their limited road maintenance funds can be put to best use.

Timetable:

5 p.m., Friday, October 13 - Leave Lolo National Forest/Missoula Ranger District office  at Fort Missoula
We will spend Friday & Saturday nights at Kreis Pond, near the Ninemile Ranger Station.
We'll spend Saturday and Sunday hiking and driving roads in the vicinity.
4 p.m., Sunday, October 15 - arrive back at Fort Missoula.

You should bring:

Equipment for car-camping.  Click on "What to bring" for a complete list of items you will need to bring.
Lunch food for Saturday and Sunday. Suggestions can be found under "What to bring."
